GAMMATECH SPOTLIGHTS DURABOOK AND SLIMNOTE PC'S AT CES 2008 IN LAS VEGAS

2008 International CES, Las Vegas, Wynn Las Vegas Hotel --January 7th, 2008 –

Gammatech, a worldwide leading manufacturer of notebook computers, will be featuring it’s DURABOOK and SLIMNOTE PC’s notebook computers at this year’s CES Show. The spotlight will be on the D15TS, the seventh generation of Gammatech’s successful semi-rugged Durabook line, powered by Intel Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology.

The D15TS features a 4 MB Intel® CoreT 2 Duo processor, an anti shock mounted 80/100/120/160 GB hard drive, Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator x3100, Intel® Smart 2D display, an Intel® Pro/Wireless 4965 AGN network connection and optional Bluetooth EDR 2.0 capabilities. Weighing a mere 6.39 pounds, the D15TS can take on the real world with a 15.4" wide screen LCD display, anti-shock mounted hard drive, a magnesium alloy case, a spill-resistant keyboard, a patented optical disk tray lock and a protective spill tray underneath the keyboard to prevent accidental damage due to spills.

All Durabooks feature a magnesium-alloy case that is 20 times stronger than ABS plastic. The case has been tested to withstand 26 drops from 76 cm (over 2 feet) onto plywood over concrete (unit off and display closed). The magnesium alloy top and bottom case protects the system's vital components such as LCD, HDD and motherboard from damage due to drops.

In addition, Durabooks come with double protection smart battery circuitry, which helps prevent damage caused by overheating and voltage surges, as well as battery calibration that helps fight battery capacity loss after repeated charges and discharges. For security and identity protection, the unit features a smart card socket for identity protection and TPM support. Finally, a patented DVD/CD tray lock prevents unintentional ejection of the tray and disk due to drops or vibration.
