Device Cleaning Guide
DURABOOK is committed to providing market-leading rugged mobile solutions that help customers innovate faster and be more productive all around the world. Customers in healthcare, public safety, manufacturing, utilities, transport and logistics often use Durabook devices where potentially harmful germs and bacteria are present. This guide outlines how customers should sanitize their devices to reduce the spread of contaminants while ensuring continued performance.
CLEANING & SANITIZATION GUIDE
The standard industry method for cleaning electronic equipment is to use a clean microfiber cloth with a mix of 70% (v/v) isopropyl alcohol and 30% water. Customers should ensure the device to be cleaned is switched off and all cables removed before using the cloth, damp with the alcohol solution, to gently wipe down all surfaces starting with the display and finally cables. All surfaces must be completely dry before switching the device back on. Liquids should not be sprayed directly onto the device, and moisture should be prevented from entering ports or dripping into the keyboard.
DURABOOK has tested the above method using a some of the most commonly found sanitization products* across its full range of rugged devices. Please see below results, which were carried out and verified by an independent third party.
In order to test that devices would hold up to the sanitization procedure across their lifetime, it was completed 10,000 times at a pressure of 1kg/cm2.
